The client is looking to add a leader to head up their West Coast structural engineering team in winning work and delivering high quality solutions. We offer hybrid working and are looking for this individual to be based in Los Angeles.
This will be achieved through:
- 60% business development / 40% project delivery
- Help evolve the team's strategy and development plans to achieve the team's business targets and brand goals through customer-focused engagement and work winning
- Supporting the overall long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of multi discipline engineering work for the firm within the region
- Externally focused for 0% of the time, develop and strengthen client and collaborator relationships through business to business meetings and industry events
- Support and mentor the team in work winning strategy
- Maintaining and developing the highest standards of project delivery
Further responsibilities will include:
- Develop KPI's with the partner in charge and align these with the regional strategy
- Develop the reputation of the firm as the best in class across a range of size, sectors, and multi-discipline projects within the local market, region and US
- Assist with developing fee estimates for all project types and ensure projects are delivered profitably, on schedule, and within scope and budget
- Set a strong example of client care and general consultancy, and support your team to do the same
- Manage relationships with internal and external clients, engineers and other stakeholders. Utilize opportunities to further work and win new commissions.
Candidate Profile:
- Significant track record of client engagement, and of an established client relationship network in California
- 15+ years of experience
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering preferred
- Licensed California SE
- Proven work winner within, but not limited to, culture, aviation, science & tech, higher education, and sports sectors
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of internal and external sources, including senior management, clients, regulators, and company-wide staff
- Confident, proactive character, with a track record of taking the lead in challenging situations
What we offer:
- Salary range of $130,000 to $180,000 (Associate Principal) to $160,000 to $240,000 (Principal). This will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and/or geographic location
