As an Owner's Agent/Representative, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a utility client with specialized focus on vertical infrastructure projects, such as treatment plants, pump stations, and reservoirs. What Will You Contribute?
In your role as the Owner's Agent/Representative, you will:
- Represent the client's interests throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring goals, budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and project partners, including architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Facilitate project delivery by evaluating and recommending the most effective delivery methods, including collaborative delivery and alternative contracting methods.
- Lead the development of procurement strategies, contract language, and provide oversight for project negotiations and delivery.
- Drive optimization and acceleration of project delivery through best practices and collaborative methods like Progressive Design-Build (PDB) and Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR).
- Engage with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) stakeholders to integrate their input throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the development of project definitions, contract review, procurement, and oversee program delivery for major infrastructure projects.
- Help identify and implement solutions to accelerate procurement and construction, including bundling projects into larger packages.
- Guide quality management, permitting processes, and dispute resolution to ensure seamless project execution.
- Prepare risk registers, ensure compliance with permitting requirements, and lead workshops on the collaborative delivery process.
What Will You Bring?
- A B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 10+ years of progressive technical design experience, preferably within consulting, with expertise in pump station and reservoir design.
- Proven experience with alternative delivery methods, including Progressive Design-Build (PDB) and Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR).
- Strong presentation, public speaking, and persuasive communication skills.
- Local or national recognition as an industry leader, with involvement in organizations like the Water Environment Federation (WEF) or American Water Works Association (AWWA) being a plus.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain PE within six months of hire.
- A collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
