Water/Wastewater Engineer
Location: Remote (Anywhere in Maryland)
Our client, a respected engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity, based anywhere in Maryland. In this role, you will lead and contribute to a variety of water and wastewater projects, from preliminary studies through design and construction. You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and resiliency planners to develop sustainable solutions for communities addressing climate change and critical water infrastructure needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage water and wastewater projects, including site planning and design, water distribution and storage, sanitary and storm sewer conveyance, combined sewer overflow control, stormwater management, green infrastructure, flood resiliency, floodplain restoration, and flood control.
- Perform field investigations, alternatives analysis, and develop designs, engineering calculations, and cost estimations.
- Oversee project teams to deliver final project deliverables, engineering reports, and contract documents.
- Review and guide junior engineers and collaborate closely with stakeholders, clients, and project teams.
- Develop and present technical reports to diverse audiences, strengthening communication and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering/design experience in water and wastewater projects.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Maryland or Virginia is required.
- Expertise in water/wastewater design, stormwater management, and flood control.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior team members while managing multiple projects.
- Experience with municipal regulations and permitting processes.
