Job Summary:
As the VP of Operations, you will oversee the strategic and day-to-day operations of the building automation division. You will manage teams across engineering, service, and project management, ensuring the successful execution of projects, optimisation of processes, and delivery of excellent client service. This role requires a proven leader with a strong background in building automation and operational management, who can drive innovation, efficiency, and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all operations related to Building Automation Systems (BAS), including project management, installation, service, and customer support.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to set goals and long-term strategies for the building automation division.
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Manage and mentor cross-functional teams, including engineering, service, and sales teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners to ensure ongoing business development.
- Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the company at the forefront of building automation innovations.
- Report on the performance of the division to executive leadership and recommend actions to improve operational performance.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in building automation, HVAC, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior operations or leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale BAS projects and operational teams.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with BAS platforms such as Honeywell, Siemens, Tridium, or Johnson Controls.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, energy management, and system integration.
- Excellent financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
