We are seeking a highly skilled VDC Piping Specialist to join our remote team, with the opportunity to progress into a leadership role.
Role Overview:
As a VDC Piping Specialist, you will play a key role in the coordination and modeling of piping systems for various projects. You will leverage your mechanical background and field experience to enhance design accuracy, clash detection, and constructability reviews. While your primary focus will be on piping systems, familiarity with all mechanical systems (HVAC, ductwork, plumbing) is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and coordinate 3D piping models using VDC/BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, etc.).
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and field teams to ensure constructability and accuracy of designs.
Perform clash detection and resolution in coordination with other disciplines.
Create and manage project-specific fabrication and spool drawings.
Support the integration of VDC processes into project workflows.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practices.
Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise on mechanical coordination.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements.
Potential for career progression into a leadership role, managing a VDC team.
Qualifications & Experience:
3-5 years of experience in VDC/BIM with a focus on piping.
Background in mechanical systems, with hands-on field experience preferred.
Strong familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and ductwork systems.
Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant BIM tools.
Experience working with fabrication detailing and coordination.
Understanding of industry codes and standards related to piping and mechanical systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
