LVI Associates is seeking a talented VDC Manager - Mechanical for an exciting opportunity with a leading construction company in Washington, DC. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of remote work while ensuring involvement in on-site coordination for groundbreaking mechanical projects.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in Virtual Design and Construction, specifically in mechanical systems. This role will lead the development and coordination of 3D models, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive innovative solutions to optimize project workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the VDC process for mechanical systems on large-scale commercial and residential projects.
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain 3D models to ensure project constructability and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and trade partners to facilitate effective communication and integration of design models.
- Lead clash detection efforts using tools such as Navisworks and BIM 360, ensuring timely resolution of conflicts.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior VDC team members.
- Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for VDC-related activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in VDC/BIM roles, focusing on mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in BIM tools such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Deep understanding of mechanical systems, construction sequencing, and clash detection workflows.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and meet project deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, balancing remote work with on-site responsibilities.
