Position Overview:
The VDC Coordinator II will play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and coordinating VDC/BIM models for mechanical systems, including plumbing, piping, and HVAC ductwork. The ideal candidate has solid field experience combined with VDC expertise and is eager to advance their career in a supportive, growth-oriented environment. This role reports to the VDC Manager and offers opportunities for professional advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed BIM models for mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and piping).
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate VDC/BIM models with design and construction processes.
- Coordinate clash detection and resolution using tools like Navisworks.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing VDC-related documentation, including 3D models and fabrication drawings.
- Support field teams by providing accurate, updated models and addressing any discrepancies.
- Facilitate VDC/BIM coordination meetings and document project progress.
- Perform quality control checks on models to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Work closely with the VDC Manager to implement best practices and improve workflows.
- Provide training and support to junior staff members.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of field experience in mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and piping).
- 3+ years of experience working with VDC/BIM processes and tools.
- Proficiency in VDC/BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and related applications.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and mechanical systems.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
