Our client, a leading regional consulting firm in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transportation Project Manager. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing roadway and drainage projects and possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license. This role requires strong leadership, project management, and technical skills to ensure the successful delivery of transportation infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage transportation projects, focusing on roadway and drainage systems, from inception to completion.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence to timelines and financial constraints.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and government agencies.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, and technical reports.
- Oversee the procurement process, including the selection of contractors and suppliers.
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders, including clients and senior management.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and project staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of New Mexico.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on roadway and drainage projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and project management practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Familiarty with engineering design tools such as AtuoCAD Civil 3D & HEC-RAS
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
