A local civil consultant is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and managing various transportation projects, including roads, highways, intersections, drainage systems, sidewalks, and other public works/Capital Improvement Projects. This role requires a deep understanding of transportation engineering principles and the ability to apply them to improve the infrastructure within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage transportation projects such as roads, highways, intersections, and drainage systems.
- Oversee the development and implementation of Capital Improvement Projects.
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Conduct traffic studies and analyses to improve traffic flow and safety.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Review and approve design documents, construction plans, and project proposals.
- Monitor project progress and budgets, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Perform site inspections and assessments to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Arizona.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation engineering.
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning, design, and construction.
- Excellent command of Microstation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil3D to design and produce plans for transportation projects
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with public works projects and Capital Improvement Programs is highly desirable.
