Overview
A leading organization in the energy sector is seeking a Senior Transmission Infrastructure Engineer to contribute to large-scale utility projects. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in engineering and design efforts, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. The position also involves leadership responsibilities, including mentoring junior engineers and facilitating training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute engineering and design tasks for transmission infrastructure projects, including structural and foundation design, material procurement, and construction management.
- Develop and refine construction documents, including design drawings, specifications, schedules, and material lists.
- Conduct engineering analysis and route selection to optimize project efficiency.
- Utilize PLS-CADD for modeling and design of high-voltage transmission systems (69 kV to 765 kV).
- Provide oversight on contractor operations to ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and external contractors.
- Serve as a technical lead, guiding engineering teams, coordinating work efforts, and ensuring project milestones are met.
- Mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to engineering codes, industry regulations, and organizational best practices.
- Travel occasionally for site assessments and project oversight.
Qualifications & Experience
- 12+ years of experience in transmission infrastructure engineering within the utility sector.
- Proven track record in end-to-end project execution, including scoping, estimating, and material procurement.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD, high-voltage transmission design, utility projects, and engineering best practices.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not mandatory.
