Position Summary:
The Technical Director will oversee the technical execution of corporate live events, ensuring seamless delivery from concept to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of technical production elements, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. With up to 50% travel required, the ideal candidate is flexible, solution-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Technical Oversight: Plan, manage, and execute all technical aspects of live corporate events, including AV, lighting, staging, and sound.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate with production teams, vendors, and on-site crew to ensure alignment with event objectives.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage technical budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and track expenditures to ensure cost efficiency.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand technical requirements, provide guidance, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Technical Design: Oversee the development of technical schematics, CAD drawings, and equipment lists to ensure all specifications meet project goals.
- On-Site Management: Serve as the technical point of contact during events, troubleshooting and ensuring all elements run smoothly.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all technical operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Director or similar role in the corporate live events industry.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of audio, video, lighting systems, rigging, and staging for large-scale corporate events.
- Travel Flexibility: Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage vendor relationships effectively.
- Project Management: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Problem-Solving: Quick thinker with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges under pressure.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD software, production management tools, and event-specific technologies.
