Control Systems Engineer
Summary:
Responsible for preparing all required documents for the design and fabrication of control systems and assemblies. Duties include programming PLCs, HMIs, motor drives, and servos, providing engineered quotations, interfacing with customers, and participating in field start-up activities.
Tools Used:
- AB/Rockwell software for PLC and HMI development
- Other manufacturers' PLC, HMI, and drive development tools as required
- AutoCAD Lite & AutoCAD Electrical
- Electrical test equipment
Pre-Employment Training:
- High School Graduate
- BSEE (Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering)
Employment Training:
- 1 year of on-the-job training
- Additional formal training as required based on abilities

Work Performed:
- Prepare quotations, including material and labor cost calculations and selling price determination.
- Generate written proposals.
- Create sketches for drawing preparation of sales orders (projects).
- Develop Bills of Materials for projects.
- Prepare CAD drawings.
- Develop PLC programs.
- Develop HMI programs.
- Collaborate with Shop Personnel and Purchasing on material acquisition challenges.
- Generate and review final documentation for shipped orders.
- Support Quality Control to ensure panel design integrity.
- Communicate with customers and vendors via phone.
- Transmit required documentation to customers and maintain accurate records.
- Participate in field start-up activities, sometimes requiring electrical device installation and wiring.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Accountabilities:
- Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Gaining proficiency in UL 508A requirements.
- Ensuring design integrity in all projects.
- Maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
- Ensuring Bills of Materials are accurate in terms of:
