A regional Survey and Civil Consulting firm is seeking a skilled and dedicated Survey Party Chief to lead their local field crew in performing survey tasks efficiently and accurately. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills to manage daily operations and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and allocate crew manpower and resources to execute survey tasks efficiently.
- Manage daily work assignments for the field crew, including equipment usage, sketch preparation, and electronic data collection.
- Ensure field survey activities adhere to industry standards and best practices.
- Enforce safety procedures and ensure the use of required personal protective equipment.
- Communicate daily with the Field Supervisor and/or Project Manager regarding field survey operations.
- Conduct daily downloading of data collectors.
- Prepare daily time sheets, data logs, and expense reports.
- Mentor and train Rod Person/Instrument Tech as needed.
- Drive to and from job sites and premises as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; TMOSS experience preferred.
- Proficiency with required survey equipment and mid-level math skills.
- Knowledge of land boundary retracement and state plane coordinate systems.
- Basic knowledge of Trimble Business Center software.
- Strong field documentation skills (notes and sketches).
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and good analytical abilities.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Authorized to work in the United States; security and background screenings as required.
- Participation in E-Verify and compliance with DOT pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
