Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Survey Crew Chief to lead our surveying operations for a variety of civil engineering projects. In this fully remote role, you will coordinate and manage survey crews, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of field surveys. Your expertise will play a crucial role in the success of our projects while allowing you the flexibility to work from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise field survey crews in various civil engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Perform boundary, topographic, and construction surveys using advanced surveying equipment and software.
- Prepare and review survey data, calculations, and reports for accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to assess project needs and provide expert surveying insights.
- Train and mentor junior survey staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Conduct quality control checks on survey data and deliverables.
- Maintain and manage surveying equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition.
- Occasionally travel to project sites in Kentucky for on-site assessments and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in survey equipment and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GPS technology).
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
