We are recruiting on behalf of a regional multi-discipline civil consultant searching for a Survey Party Chief in Denver, Colorado. This role requires managing field survey operations efficiently, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and maintaining safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities:
- Organize crew manpower and resources to perform assigned survey tasks efficiently.
- Manage daily work assignments and tasks of the field crew, including equipment usage, preparation of sketches and notes, and electronic data collection.
- Ensure field survey activities comply with company and industry standards.
- Enforce adherence to all safety procedures and use of required personal protective equipment.
- Maintain daily communication with the Field Supervisor and/or Project Manager regarding survey operations.
- Conduct daily data collector downloading.
- Prepare daily time sheets, data logs, and expense reports.
- Mentor and train Rod Person/Instrument Tech on daily tasks as needed.
- Drive vehicles to and from job sites and company premises as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- TMOSS experience preferred.
- Proficiency with all required survey equipment.
- Understanding and proficiency with mid-level math skills.
- Knowledge of proper retracement of land boundaries.
- Introductory knowledge of Trimble Business Center software.
- Familiarity with state plane coordinate systems and geodetic calculations.
- Solid documentation skills (field notes and sketches).
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Security/background screenings may be a condition of the job assignment.
