A leader in alternative energy solutions, this company is hiring for a Structural Engineering Department Manager to lead and manage the Civil Engineering team that will focus on a range of energy projects relating to the treatment of natural gas and biogas.
This market leader offers high-value consultancy, engineering and construction management services to the energy, process and power industries. You will get the chance to work on Renewable Energy projects, as they focus on LFG to Energy Plants and Waste-to Energy facilities, converting biogas diverted from waste into Green Energy including heat, electricity and Renewable Natural Gas. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, this Structural Engineering Department Manager, will conduct tasks utilizing professional knowledge and skills, applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria within a series of related engineering assignments and oversee the Civil/Structural Engineering Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides managerial direction to the department, offering supervision and guidance on overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
- Determines technical and professional staffing requirements, including hiring, managing, and motivating personnel. Assigns work and evaluates performance to ensure efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff. Conducts performance reviews.
- Acts as a technical advisor, offering senior-level input and evaluation on projects. Establishes and maintains quality and accuracy standards, reviewing and approving completed engineering documentation.
- Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in problem anticipation and resolution. Establishes program objectives, organizes projects, and develops standards and guidelines.
- Collaborates with other managers to achieve the company's mission.
- Performs construction management and/or field engineering duties on assigned projects, as necessary. Utilizes Deltek for the completion and approvals of weekly time reports, expense statements, and project reporting.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Master of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university is an asset.
- 15+ years of engineering experience.
- PE Certification
- Valid US Driver's License
- Valid Passport
- PMP Certification is a plus
- Deltek experience is a plus
- Change order and negotiation experience
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management experience
- Budget Planning, tracking and reporting
