Hiring for a full-time, salaried position at an established engineering firm in the Colorado Front Range that specializes in structural and architectural remediation/repairs, building forensics, and consultation related to existing and new residential and commercial design. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, independent professionals .who can apply sound reasoning and engineering principles to unique situations and provide findings and/or recommendations to clients. Typical duties will include the investigation of existing structures as it pertains to damage or deficiencies to various components of residential and commercial buildings, including the structure and building envelope, as well as writing reports of findings and handling multiple ongoing projects to include project management, schedule management, and direct coordination/communication with client. Other duties include performing calculations and designing/detailing/drafting structures to include ground-up, additions, and alterations for existing and new residential and commercial construction projects. We operate in a decentralized structure with no physical office but frequent remote communication to maintain strong collaboration and team unity. Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from ABET accredited university. Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in design, drafting, consultation, and/or investigation of buildings and/or grounds.
- Applicants shall be proficient in the following computer programs: RISA/Enercalc or similar structural analysis program, AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and PDF editing.
- Professional Licensure (PE, SE, or RA) in Colorado and/or other states required.
- Must have knowledge of current building codes and construction standards.
- Must demonstrate excellent people skills, customer service, written and oral communication, and time management skills.
- Must be able to climb ladders, maneuver pitched roofs, access confined areas, and lift 40 lbs.
- Candidate must be based in the Colorado Springs, CO area or be willing to relocate. In-state travel required with occasional out of state site visits.
