We're working with a local engineering firm based in Utah who are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their team. This position is fully remote so long as you are based in Utah, California or Nevada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, design, and develop plans for residential projects, prepare construction documents, and lead design tasks across various sectors, working closely with the Project Manager (PM).
- Perform preliminary wind load designs, research alternative products, review building codes, and contribute to advanced design opportunities as assigned.
- Assist with construction administration, including field visits, addressing RFIs, and generating revisions, while maintaining direct communication with clients and contractors.
- Track project progress using management software, maintain logs, and provide regular updates to the PM and clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- EIT certification or ability to obtain within 2 years; PE track preferred.
- 2-7 years of structural engineering experience; forensic or failure analysis experience is a plus.
- Strong analytic skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing multiple projects.
