Job Description: As a Senior Environmental Planner you will be a vital member of our team, contributing your expertise in CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) writing and transportation planning to support our diverse range of projects. You will work closely with clients, government agencies, and internal teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and the development of sustainable transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the CEQA process for various projects, including conducting environmental impact assessments, preparing and reviewing documents, and overseeing the public review and comment process.
- Utilize your transportation planning expertise to assess the environmental implications of transportation projects and develop strategies for mitigating their impacts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and implement innovative, sustainable transportation solutions.
- Provide expert guidance to clients and regulatory agencies, maintaining strong working relationships.
- Stay current with evolving environmental regulations and best practices, and ensure that our projects adhere to the latest industry standards.
- Mentor junior candidates and assist in marketing and business development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in environmental planning, with a strong emphasis on CEQA writing and transportation planning.
- Extensive knowledge of CEQA regulations and experience managing the CEQA process.
- Proficiency in transportation planning is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- A commitment to environmental sustainability and an understanding of the importance of responsible land use and transportation planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification (AICP, CEP, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Experience working in a consulting or private-sector environment.
