Job Title: Senior Staff Engineer

Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 per year
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Engineer to join our geotechnical engineering team. Our company specializes in landslides and rock mechanics, faults and seismic hazards, expert witness services, investigation and design, peer review, construction observation and testing, and aerial photogrammetric surveying and 3-D modeling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these areas and a proven track record of managing complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects related to landslides, rock mechanics, and seismic hazards.
- Conduct site investigations, soil and rock sampling, and geotechnical analysis.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and provide expert witness testimony as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, architects, and construction managers.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development activities.
- Oversee construction observation and testing to ensure project specifications are met.
- Utilize aerial photogrammetric surveying and 3-D modeling techniques for project analysis and design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on landslides, rock mechanics, and seismic hazards.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical software and tools (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS, AutoCAD).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
