Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Environmental Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design of a diverse range of civil and environmental engineering projects. These projects may include solid waste and resource recovery facilities, municipal, commercial, and industrial facilities, stormwater management structures, utility facilities, water/wastewater collection systems and treatment facilities, and other various civil site and stormwater design projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead tasks/projects, perform assistant project management duties, and interact with clients. Candidates will have career growth opportunities into lead engineer, project management, and other potential leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design facilities from the conceptual phase through design completion and construction.
- Collaborate with project teams throughout the design and construction process, adapting plans, designs, production drawings, and specifications according to budget constraints, regulatory requirements, or client needs.
- Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
- Prepare reports, studies, and cost estimates to help clients evaluate options and provide solutions.
- Support and lead civil and environmental permitting efforts.
- Perform assistant project management duties such as developing and executing project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and client expectations.
- Provide construction phase support services and prepare construction quality assurance (CQA) reports.
- Train and mentor staff.
- Develop and maintain client and regulatory relationships.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of civil or environmental engineering experience (consulting preferred); or
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of environmental engineering experience (consulting preferred); or
- Master's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering and 2 years of environmental or civil engineering experience (consulting preferred).
- FE, EIT, or PE preferred.
- Available for travel as necessary (approximately 15% travel).
- Strong knowledge of standard civil and environmental engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Civil 3D, and other programs).
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
