The Senior Technology Designer is responsible for delivering technical excellence and ensuring successful project execution. This role focuses on maintaining high customer satisfaction by managing expectations and fostering a collaborative team environment. The candidate will also support business development efforts through proposal writing and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design telecommunications, audio/visual, and security systems, including structured cabling, outside plant infrastructure, paging, digital signage, access control, and CCTV.
- Prepare engineering documents and specifications in compliance with industry standards (e.g., RCDD, TIA/EIA, NEC, NFPA).
- Develop project estimates and ensure adherence to scope.
- Create and manage project plans and schedules.
- Lead technology-based projects, overseeing execution and delivery.
- Support business development through proposals and client interactions.
- Direct and coordinate work with internal teams and subcontractors.
- Provide technical support to other disciplines and departments.
- Maintain knowledge of related fields, including architectural and engineering construction practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Degree or extensive experience in IT, Computer, or Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of low-voltage systems design experience across commercial sectors (public, office, education, healthcare).
- Familiarity with industry standards (RCDD, TIA/EIA, NEC, NFPA).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant technology tools.
Preferred:
- RCDD or other industry-recognized certifications.
Working Conditions:
- Fieldwork may involve construction sites and handling testing equipment.
- Travel up to 25% domestically.
