Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Consultant to join our team in the audiovisual integration space. This role is ideal for a design professional with a deep understanding of AV systems integration, Revit proficiency, and expertise in QSC/Q-Sys platforms. The Senior Design Consultant will work closely with clients, project managers, and technical teams to design and deliver state-of-the-art audiovisual solutions for a variety of environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Consultative Design Development:
- Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.
- Develop innovative and tailored audiovisual solutions that align with client goals and industry standards.
- Provide expertise during project planning phases, including feasibility studies, concept development, and design validation.
Detailed System Design:
- Create detailed AV system designs and documentation using Revit, including architectural layouts, signal flow diagrams, and equipment schematics.
- Ensure designs integrate seamlessly with building systems and meet functional and aesthetic requirements.
- Specify AV equipment, components, and materials with a focus on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
QSC/Q-Sys Expertise:
- Design and program systems leveraging QSC/Q-Sys platforms to deliver flexible and scalable AV solutions.
- Provide guidance on the best practices for deploying QSC/Q-Sys in various integration scenarios.
- Troubleshoot and refine Q-Sys designs to ensure optimal system performance.
Project Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with teams to ensure AV system designs are accurately implemented.
- Provide technical oversight during installation phases, verifying system alignment with design specifications.
- Participate in system commissioning, ensuring functionality, user experience, and client satisfaction.
Thought Leadership and Training:
- Stay current with trends and advancements in audiovisual technology and integration practices.
- Mentor junior designers and technical staff in system design, Revit usage, and Q-Sys programming.
- Represent the company in industry forums, client presentations, and technical workshops.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in audiovisual system design and consulting, with a focus on integrated solutions (not live events).
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Revit, with a proven track record of producing high-quality, detail-oriented designs.
- Advanced knowledge of QSC/Q-Sys platforms, including system design, programming, and optimization.
- Strong understanding of AV signal flow, control systems, networking, and interoperability between devices.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt designs to meet diverse client needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, or AV Technology) or equivalent experience.
- Relevant certifications, such as CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist - Design) or Q-Sys Level certifications, are strongly preferred.
