Position Summary
My client, a leader in engineering and construction, is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Design Engineer to take on a pivotal role in their growing team. With a competitive salary range of $115,000-$140,000+ and significant opportunities for upward growth, this role positions you to become a key leader in the company and the #2 in the department. You'll manage fire protection design projects from concept through fabrication while mentoring less-experienced engineers and contributing to innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design efforts as the fire protection subject matter expert in project team meetings.
- Develop complex redline layouts and designs for estimating and execution.
- Create and manage engineering and shop drawings, specifications, calculations, and material submittals from initial concept through listing and fabrication.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with construction documents and resolve design challenges during construction.
- Mentor and oversee less-experienced engineers, ensuring high-quality output for projects of varying sizes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of fire protection design experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Expertise in fire protection system design and a general understanding of other trade/system operations.
- Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Office (Excel), and reading construction documents.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
