About the Role: Our cliet is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Supervisor to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of ground-mounted solar projects from inception to completion. You will play a crucial role in identifying suitable project sites, negotiating with landowners, obtaining necessary permits, and ensuring projects adhere to all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure suitable locations for solar project development.
- Conduct feasibility studies, including resource assessments, environmental impact analyses, and grid connection studies.
- Develop detailed project proposals, development plans, and schedules.
- Negotiate with landowners to secure land leases or purchases under favorable conditions.
- Engage with local communities and obtain consent from neighbors and local associations for project construction.
- Coordinate with local authorities to secure necessary permits and approvals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Manage subcontractors for tasks such as topographic and boundary surveys, environmental impact assessments, and other necessary permits.
- Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimates and financial models.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the technical team to ensure the technical feasibility and successful implementation of solar projects.
- Bring projects to a "Ready to Build" status within the expected timeline.
- Stay updated on the latest solar technologies and industry trends to enhance project efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese.
- Business-level proficiency in English.
- Valid driver's license.
- 4 to 5 years of experience in project development, preferably in the renewable energy sector with a focus on solar energy.
- Familiarity with permitting processes, environmental assessments, grid interconnection, and METI processes.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
