Position Overview
We are seeking experienced and motivated Field Service Technicians (Level 2-3) to conduct preventive maintenance and address corrective issues for utility-scale solar PV systems. This role involves troubleshooting, testing, and repairs, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs at solar photovoltaic facilities.
- Conduct DC and AC system testing, including polarity, voltage, grounding, communication, insulation resistance, and I-V curve tracing.
- Manage vehicle, tools, meters, and inventory of spare parts.
- Prepare detailed service reports and maintain accurate records.
- Identify safety hazards and take corrective actions.
- Create reports for operability and major downtime issues.
- Respond to emergency service calls as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- NABCEP Certified Installation Professional.
- 3-4+ years of experience in PV maintenance, covering DC systems, AC medium voltage, and communication networks.
- Proficiency with SCADA, DAS, and UPS systems.
- Skilled in testing tools like thermal imaging, IV curve tracers, Meggers, and ground fault detectors.
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code and construction standards.
- Ability to interpret electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license, OSHA 10-hour certification, and NFPA 70E training.
- Willingness to travel and provide on-call support during weekends and off-shift hours.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Work performed both on-site and in-office.
- Ability to adhere to safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Physical ability to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, or walk for extended periods.
- Capability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
