Job Description
- Design electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, and renewable energy systems.
- Conduct power system studies and electrical calculations, including lighting simulations, layouts, communications, fire alarm, and security systems.
- Develop white papers and technical documentation for technical knowledge management (TKM).
- Perform site reviews to ensure design alignment with location specifications; update design requirements as needed.
- Contribute to TKM by creating technical design documentation and submitting papers for publication.
- Collaborate with sales staff to create and review proposals for client RFPs.
- Meet with clients to discuss current and future design needs.
- Attend conferences to enhance the firm's visibility.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff; mentor and supervise junior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- 7 years of related experience.
- Domestic/international travel may be required (frequency depends on workload and project demands).
- Equivalent experience considered in lieu of a electrical engineering degree and/or PE license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in substation engineering, including:
- Protective relay schemes
- Relay schematics and wiring diagrams
- Equipment and hardware specifications (including SCADA/RTU components)
- Knowledge of NESC & NEC
- Substation grounding grid design & lightning protection
Travel Required
- 10%
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in CADD 3D/4D software.
- Expert in engineering design principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
