Opportunity with a prominent consulting engineering firm serving industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation. Due to their recent growth, they are looking to bring on a Senior Structural Engineer as a discipline lead in their Cherry Hill, New Jersey office, located just over the river from Philadelphia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as project manager and/or structural discipline lead, responsible for preparing and managing project schedules, plans, budgets, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions, including cost estimates and scope of work that meet their requirements.
- Conduct field engineering and structural inspections.
- Guide designers in creating comprehensive structural design packages, including calculations, models, detailed design documents, specifications, installation details, and connection details.
- Perform analytical modeling of new and existing structures and components.
- Conduct engineering feasibility studies and develop total installed cost estimates.
- Ensure project deliverables meet project requirements, client specifications, and industry technical and quality standards.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in technologies and standards related to structural engineering and design in the process industry.
- Collaborate with other engineers, designers, technicians, project managers, and disciplines to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients, fabricators, and field personnel.
- Review vendor drawings, calculations, and submittals as required by project scope.
- Represent the organization to clients and partners, facilitating collaboration with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Identify new business opportunities and help expand service offerings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey, with the ability to obtain licensure in additional states.
- 8-10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in heavy industrial environments.
- Proven experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation design, along with knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, RISA, SkyCiv, etc.
- Strong foundation in engineering principles with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
