A well-known civil engineering firm specializing in roadway, traffic, bridge, and construction is interested in bringing on a talented SE licensed bridge engineer local to the Chicago area to join their team. This firm has won some pretty exciting projects and looking to grow the team out even more with talented design engineers.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Perform all phases of design for transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, box culverts and other structures.
- Assisting in the preparation of proposals or project scopes, including cost estimations.
- Overseeing and reviewing bid documents, technical reports, and permit applications.
- Collaborate and work with other structural engineers and coordinate with other transportation disciplines
- Prepare and review design calculations, structural analysis and CAD drawings for various elements such as steel girders, prestressed concrete girders, bridge decks
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering
- M.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering is preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in bridge and transportation structural design is required.
- SE license is required.
- Experience design software such as Open Bridge Designer (LEAP Bridge - CONSPAN, RC PIER), MDX, LPILE, MIDAS, Larsa 4D, LUSAS, sp Column
- Experience with structural design for IDOT, counties, and local municipalities
