Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead their Stormwater and Drainage projects. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in project management within the civil engineering and water resources sectors. This role requires a leader with a strong technical foundation in civil engineering who is adept at managing complex projects from inception through to completion. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering impactful projects while contributing to the company's continued success and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all phases of stormwater and drainage projects, ensuring that they meet client expectations, budgets, and timelines.
- Mentor and develop a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, professional development, and performance management.
- Conduct preliminary studies, site assessments, and feasibility analyses to determine project viability and develop conceptual designs.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for stormwater-related projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, water resources engineers, environmental specialists, and project managers, to integrate stormwater and drainage designs into broader project plans.
- Provide quality control and technical guidance for the work performed by junior engineers and peer senior engineers.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in stormwater/wastewater management to improve project delivery.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, sharing expertise and supporting their professional development.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 15+ years of experience in Water Resources and Project Management, including experience with the Federal Highway Hydraulic Toolbox and OpenFlows Storm
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in D.C., MD, or VA
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex stormwater and wastewater engineering projects on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working on DDOT, VDOT, MDOT, and/or Virginia/Maryland projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Federal Highway Hydraulic Toolbox and OpenFlows Storm
- Additional certifications or advanced degrees in Civil Engineering or a related field
