Our client, a leading engineering and consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Practice Lead to lead their Physical Security practice, with a focus on data center and mission-critical projects. This role is ideal for a security industry leader who excels in managing complex security design projects, leading teams, and driving strategic growth.
About the Role:
The Senior Project Manager / Practice Lead will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of physical security systems for data centers and other critical infrastructure projects. This includes:
✔ Access Control & Identity Management
✔ Video Surveillance (CCTV, VMS, AI Analytics)
✔ Intrusion Detection & Perimeter Security
✔ Security Operations Centers (SOC) & Command Centers
✔ Cyber-Physical Security Integrations
This leader will drive the firm's security practice, working directly with data center operators, hyperscalers, and enterprise clients to deliver cutting-edge security solutions that meet industry best practices, compliance standards, and emerging threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the physical security system design process for data centers and critical infrastructure.
- Develop and execute security strategies aligned with industry standards (TIA-942, NIST, Uptime Institute, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Oversee project teams, including security engineers, designers, and sub-consultants.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless security integration.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and project deliverables while ensuring compliance with security regulations.
- Provide technical leadership for security system design, risk assessments, and implementation planning.
- Support construction administration, system testing, commissioning, and training.
- Engage with industry organizations and stay ahead of emerging security trends and threats.
Qualifications & Experience:
✔ 10+ years of experience in physical security consulting, system design, or security technology integration.
✔ Proven leadership experience in managing security projects for data centers, hyperscalers, or mission-critical environments.
✔ Strong knowledge of physical security technologies, including access control, surveillance, AI-driven security, and threat intelligence.
✔ Familiarity with security compliance standards (TIA-942, NIST, ISO 27001, Uptime Institute, SOC 2, etc.).
✔ Experience managing teams, budgets, and client relationships in a consulting or engineering environment.
✔ Working knowledge of BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite.
✔ Associate's in Applied Science required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
✔ Industry certifications such as PSP (Physical Security Professional), CPP (Certified Protection Professional), RCDD, or CTS-D are highly desirable.
