As a Senior Project Manager, you'll handle complex projects in the electrical field, including transmission, distribution, and substation construction/maintenance. You'll be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems, often through subordinate supervisory personnel. You'll also be involved in the conceptual development of construction projects, overseeing their organization, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, subcontractors, safety, quality, and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure customer success
- Build and maintain strong relationships with field leaders, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and support personnel to ensure projects are completed safely and on time
- Develop, implement, and track resource-loaded project schedules
- Identify and manage project risks effectively
- Establish and monitor project budgets throughout the project lifecycle, including monthly reporting and forecasting
- Lead project kickoff meetings and mobilization plans
- Manage project closeout and demobilization
- Accurately track and report project production goals
- Develop, track, and report a Project Specific Safety Plan (PSSP) in collaboration with safety professionals
- Develop, track, and report a Project Quality Plan (PQP) in collaboration with quality professionals
- Work with field leadership to manage personnel and equipment requirements efficiently
- Negotiate subcontractor and vendor contract scope, terms, and conditions
- Manage subcontractors and vendors
- Understand and adhere to project contractual terms and conditions
- Mentor and train project management team members
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong business correspondence and communication skills
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and identify constructability issues
- Willingness to travel short-term
- Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and local permitting agencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screenings
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of project management experience in the construction industry
- Associate's or bachelor's degree or relevant experience
- High-voltage construction experience
- PMP Certification
