A nationally recognized and award-winning civil consulting firm is seeking a motivated and ambitious Senior Project Manager to join their local offices in Lansing, Grand Rapids, or Detroit, Michigan.
This dynamic role is ideal for engineers passionate about leading highway design projects and fostering client relationships. As a key member of the Michigan team, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning and execution of complex roadway projects, mentor junior staff, and support business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of transportation design plans, including roadway geometry, earthwork modeling, 3D roadway design, and utility coordination.
- Prepare construction documents, cost estimates, schedules, and specifications.
- Evaluate design needs, recommend changes, and ensure code compliance through agency submissions.
- Develop marketing strategies for transportation pursuits to support business development.
- Attend client meetings, address project requirements, and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to quality assurance and control processes.
- Participate in professional organizations and technical committees to enhance the Michigan program.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years of experience in roadway design or related fields.
- Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Experience with MDOT or similar state DOTs in highway design and delivery.
- Proficiency in roadway design software and virtual collaboration tools like ProjectWise.
- Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
