Title: Senior Process Engineer
Location: Austin, TX
Responsibilities
This role involves executing and leading the design of process systems for facility infrastructure projects in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, and related industries. Responsibilities include providing technical oversight and direction, creating design deliverables, and leading junior staff as needed. Project work spans all phases, including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction administration, and project close-out.
System types include:
- Process water (Reverse Osmosis, Deionization, Ultrapure Water)
- Wastewater treatment (Acid Waste Neutralization, HF Waste Water Treatment, Copper Waste Water Treatment)
- Various water reclaim systems
- UHP Chemical delivery and Distribution
- Waste Chemical Collection and Transfer
- UHP Spec Gas delivery and distribution
- Process Mechanical Systems (Acid and Base Exhaust, Organic Exhaust, Bulk Gasses, Process Cooling Water)
Key responsibilities:
- Drive client satisfaction and product quality by providing technical direction, oversight, and issue resolution for Process Engineering design scopes
- Enhance the company's value proposition through strategic communication and cooperation with clients, other disciplines, and construction partners
- Lead Process Engineering design teams to execute design packages in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities for leading high-tech companies
- Facilitate and supervise team evaluation and management duties, such as workforce planning/staffing, hiring, career development, advancement, and performance management
- Implement strategic initiatives within the Process Engineering Discipline team to achieve department and corporate objectives
- Create (or direct creation of) hydraulic and pipe stress models and validate results
- Conceptualize process system requirements and communicate overall system design using block flow diagrams or other means as needed
- Review and markup P&IDs, equipment, and piping plan drawings
- Write and edit reports for engineering studies, Basis of Design documents, and narratives for non-technical audiences explaining engineering concepts to facilitate decision-making
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
Qualifications
- BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- 8+ years of experience with process systems in the semiconductor, petrochemical, or bio/pharmaceutical industries
- Technical familiarity/proficiency in the system types listed above, with particular strength in Ultrapure Water and Waste-Water preferred
- PE licensure or the ability to obtain PE within 6 months required
- Familiarity with Autocad, Plant 3D, Revit, NavisWorks, Pipe-Flo, pipe stress software, Bluebeam a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
