Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Orlando
Salary: $110,000 - $160,000
The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will design mechanical engineering concepts that align with project visions. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the consulting engineering process and related contractual documents as well as mentoring some junior designer and engineers.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope and create mechanical engineering designs (HVAC and other systems).
- Manage business aspects of multiple projects, ensuring financial targets and quality standards are met.
- Establish budgets, cost estimates, and project schedules; write proposals.
- Act as liaison with clients and project staff, managing scope changes and project milestones.
- Perform engineering studies and design analyses to ensure cost-effective and code-compliant systems.
- Supervise and mentor project design engineers.
- Prepare and coordinate drawings across all project phases.
- Perform construction administration tasks, including site observations and shop drawing reviews.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and other professionals.
- Serve as engineer of record (EOR) on assigned projects.
- Handle miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the United States and based in Orlando, Florida.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering management and design of commercial buildings.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida (PE).
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading multi-discipline engineering teams.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP and other engineering software.
- Strong technical/computer skills, including Microsoft O365.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national codes.
- Experience with various project delivery methods.
- Knowledge of fire protection and plumbing systems is a bonus.
