Working with a leading civil engineering firm recognized for delivering exceptional solutions in infrastructure, land development, and environmental projects. We are expanding our integrated design capabilities and seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to bring expertise and creativity to our multidisciplinary team. This role is pivotal in shaping sustainable and aesthetically compelling landscapes that complement and enhance engineering projects.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will collaborate with civil engineers, planners, and other professionals to lead the landscape design aspects of projects, ensuring innovative, sustainable, and functional designs. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on design expertise, with a focus on integrating landscape architecture seamlessly into infrastructure and development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
- Lead landscape architecture efforts on a variety of civil engineering projects, including transportation, stormwater management, and land development.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients on landscape architecture components of projects.
Design Excellence:
- Create sustainable and context-sensitive designs that enhance project functionality and aesthetics.
- Oversee the development of plans, renderings, and construction documents.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, environmental regulations, and best practices.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, planners, and environmental scientists to integrate landscape architecture into larger projects.
- Participate in interdisciplinary design charrettes and team meetings.
- Coordinate with external consultants and stakeholders as needed.
Mentorship and Team Building:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
- Support the growth and development of the firm's landscape architecture team.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive culture within the department.
Quality Control:
- Review and approve design deliverables for accuracy and quality.
- Conduct site visits during construction to ensure design intent is met.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Registered Landscape Architect (PLA/RLA) required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, preferably within a civil engineering or multidisciplinary firm.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects from concept to completion.
- Skills:
- Expertise in sustainable design and green infrastructure solutions.
- Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and GIS tools.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively to clients and teams.
