Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will possess a G.E. (Geotechnical Engineer) license and have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, environmental studies, geologic investigations, construction monitoring, and testing. This role requires a deep understanding of soil mechanics, foundation design, and earth retention systems, along with excellent project management and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Conduct detailed geotechnical investigations, including soil sampling, laboratory testing, and analysis.
- Develop and review geotechnical reports, providing recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Oversee construction monitoring and testing to ensure compliance with geotechnical specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
- Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and advancements in geotechnical engineering.
- Prepare and present technical proposals and reports to clients and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- G.E. (Geotechnical Engineer) license required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering successful geotechnical projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
