Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Lead geotechnical investigations and site assessments for transportation, commercial design-build, and sustainable design projects.
- Oversee soil and rock sampling, laboratory testing, and analysis to determine engineering properties.
- Develop comprehensive geotechnical reports, including recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate geotechnical considerations into project designs.
- Provide expert technical support during construction, including site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with geotechnical recommendations.
- Utilize advanced geotechnical software and tools to model and analyze subsurface conditions.
- Prepare and present technical reports and findings to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
- Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on sustainable design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on transportation, commercial design-build, and sustainable design projects.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS, gINT).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership and project management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
