The role involves analyzing financial data, conducting risk assessments, and developing comprehensive financial models to support decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
Financial Modeling:
Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate the financial feasibility and internal rate of return (IRR) of investments.
Incorporate factors such as project costs, tax incentives, financing options, energy production forecasts, and revenue streams.
Identify areas of optimization to improve the IRR of investments.
Risk Analysis:
Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential financial risks and uncertainties associated with investments.
Provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
Market Research:
Stay updated on market trends, subsidies, incentive programs, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare detailed financial reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project financial performance, investment opportunities, and potential risks to stakeholders, including investors, management, and regulatory agencies.
Investment Analysis:
Evaluate investment opportunities.
Assess financial metrics such as IRR, net present value (NPV), payback period, and cash flow analysis.
Assess valuation of assets through various methodologies such as discounted cash flow analysis.
Evaluate or formulate business transaction structures.
Financing:
Support in sourcing and evaluating external financial partners to ensure competitive terms and rates.
Act as an interface between management and financial partners to review project economics, terms, and assess customer creditworthiness.
Portfolio Management:
Monitor and report the performance of existing investments.
Conduct variance analysis to assess the difference between estimated and actual financial performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CFA is an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and managing financial models in the renewable energy industry.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw actionable insights.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
Knowledge of renewable energy policies, regulations, and incentive programs.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
