A leading provider of innovative solutions for water and wastewater systems, specializing in electrical design, automation, and maintenance. They are currently seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Design Engineer with a strong background in electrical design, PLC programming, and automation systems for water/wastewater projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to the sales team during the prospecting phase, assisting with scope of supply and cost estimation for electrical and automation needs in water/wastewater projects.
- Collaborate with agents, distributors, OEM partners, and end-users to address technical queries and specifications related to electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Design electrical and control panel schematics using AutoCAD or Eplan, generate Bill of Materials (BOM), and select appropriate hardware components.
- Develop PLC and HMI programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.) for process control and automation in water/wastewater systems.
- Manage procurement activities, liaise with sub-suppliers and sub-contractors across Singapore and the region for wiring, cabling, control panel fabrication, and installation of water/wastewater systems.
- Oversee procurement schedules, monitor production progress, and ensure timely supply of cabling, wiring, and PLC control panel components.
- Supervise on-site electrical installations, conduct panel testing, configuration of instrumentation, loop testing, and automation commissioning.
- Prepare and hand over operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals related to electrical and PLC components to clients, agents, or distributors.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in both spoken and written English.
- At least 5 to 8 years of experience in industrial/equipment production or engineering projects.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally for site installations, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Senior positions are available for candidates with extensive experience.
- Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
