About the Role:
The company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join their team in Taiwan. This key role will focus on managing procurement activities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the company's commercial operations run smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will bring strong procurement and contract management experience, providing leadership in securing favorable terms with suppliers, managing risk, and optimizing the commercial aspects of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the procurement strategy for key raw materials, services, and equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing in alignment with company needs.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring the company receives optimal terms, risk mitigation, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
- Oversee the contract management process, including drafting, reviewing, and amending contracts as required, ensuring they reflect the company's commercial interests and legal requirements.
- Work closely with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure that contracts are implemented effectively and any commercial risks are managed proactively.
- Provide strategic guidance and commercial insights to senior management regarding market trends, supplier performance, and potential opportunities for cost savings or value enhancement.
- Manage and track procurement budgets, ensuring that spending is aligned with company targets and cost-saving initiatives.
- Develop and implement processes for effective procurement operations, contract execution, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Prepare and deliver reports on procurement activities, commercial negotiations, and contract performance to senior leadership.
- Lead a team of procurement professionals, providing mentorship, training, and ensuring high performance within the department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in procurement, contract management, or a commercial management role, ideally within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of procurement strategies, contract law, and risk management.
- Proven experience in negotiating and managing complex contracts with both local and international suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with finance, legal, operations, and project management teams.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market conditions, supplier capabilities, and commercial risks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin (both written and spoken) is highly preferred.
