A leading manufacturer in Dallas is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their organization. This role focuses on managing controls and automation projects, including the installation of new manufacturing systems and the upgrade of existing ones across all manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities:
- System Development and Commissioning
- Develop, install, and commission plant controls and automation systems
- PLC programming, HMI development, and MES data collection
- Design and Specification:
- Design and specify plant control system architecture, including control panels, hardware, and communication protocols
- Standards Development:
- Develop and enforce process controls standards
- Partnership Management:
- Collaborate with and direct third-party controls engineering partners
Skills and Experience Requirements:
Ideal candidates will have:
- Industry Experience:
- At least 5 years in a controls and automation engineering role within the food and beverage, consumer goods, or similar industries
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced proficiency in ladder logic programming with Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix)
- Advanced HMI development skills, preferably with Wonderware (Aveva) Archestra System Platform
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
- Familiarity with the design and specification of process control panels
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience in the food and beverage industry or similar, particularly with high sanitary standards and CIP cleaning and sterilization
- Experience with Wonderware MES or similar MES platforms
- Experience with .NET programming environments
- Experience with SQL databases
- Experience with Ethernet/IP communication within a plant control system
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent formal and informal communication skills
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Office
