Our client is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for a first-shift position in Los Angeles. This role involves leading the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of complex manufacturing control systems.
Responsibilities
- Design control systems and recommend components for manufacturing processes, ensuring system integration and addressing interface challenges.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging control technologies into system designs.
- Test control systems to verify functionality and safety compliance.
- Prepare and review electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control diagrams, collaborating with engineering teams on materials and suppliers.
- Oversee equipment performance through audits, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning.
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain project documentation using standard methodologies.
- Lead multiple complex projects with minimal supervision.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in controls engineering or a related field.
- Proficient in electrical schematics, ladder logic, HMI systems, and integrating Safety PLCs.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs, electrical circuits, and robotic systems (Fanuc, Kuka).
- Understanding of automation, fluid power systems, and vision systems.
- Familiar with NFPA and OSHA safety standards.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, servo controllers, and CNC troubleshooting.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: Experience with Fanuc and Kuka robots, Allen Bradley systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
