Fully Remote Estimator - Electrical Components (Light Rail Transit Projects)

Salary: $90,000- $110,000 + Bonus(s)

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed cost estimation for electrical systems and components specific to light rail transit projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to assess material costs, labor requirements, and timeframes.
- Review and analyze design plans, specifications, and construction documents to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Ensure estimates align with budgetary constraints and project specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and support in evaluating electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, signaling, and lighting.
- Identify and mitigate risks and uncertainties in project cost forecasts.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, codes, and regulations affecting electrical components of transit systems.
Experience Needed:
- Proven experience (3+ years) as an estimator for electrical systems in large infrastructure projects, particularly light rail transit.
- Expertise in electrical components such as power systems, signaling, lighting, and communications infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of light rail transit operations and requirements.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics.
- Experience working with estimating software and tools (e.g., ProEst, Accubid, or similar platforms).
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and understand the technical language of engineering and design professionals.
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications in estimating or electrical systems (e.g., RICS, AACE) are a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other cost estimation software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in cost analysis and reporting.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Familiarity with local, national, and industry-specific codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
