They are currently seeking a remote Project Manager to oversee utility-scale Battery Energy Storage and Substation Projects. The Project Manager will act as the primary leader for their assigned projects, responsible for ensuring project safety, scheduling, budget adherence, contract management, and construction quality in line with company standards. While the role is remote, frequent travel to project sites will be necessary as dictated by project requirements.
Responsibilities of Battery Energy Storage Project Manager:
Planning:
- Coordinate project design efforts with internal and external engineering teams.
- Lead project planning, including kick-off and close-out meetings in collaboration with construction management.
- Ensure daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHA's) and Plans of the Day are issued by the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor.
- Monitor project schedule and assist in recovery planning as needed.
- Manage design Requests for Information (RFIs) with engineering resources.
Safety Accountability:
- Set a strong example of safety leadership, ensuring adherence to safe practices by all project personnel.
- Reinforce safe behaviors and address any "at-risk" behaviors promptly.
- Ensure JHA's are conducted before each phase of work begins.
- Uphold and clarify standard operating procedures for all site team members.
- Oversee job-specific training for new hires, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and Construction Managers.
EPC Relationship Management:
- Ensure project delivery aligns with company expectations and maintain strong relationships with EPC partners.
Budget and Contract Management:
- Maintain accountability for project budget, cost tracking, and procurement.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and manage change orders effectively.
- Facilitate field purchases of project materials and equipment as required.
- Monitor contractual obligations and document any variances.
- Ensure main EPC contract terms are cascaded down to subcontractors.
Requirements for Battery Energy Storage Project Manager:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (or 8 years of relevant experience).
- PMP Certification preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Valid driver's license and eligibility for corporate vehicle insurance coverage.
- Ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.
