Public Works Estimator
Location: Arlington, WA
Salary: $140,000-$170,000 + Bonus(s)
Position Overview:
This leading general contractor is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Public Works Estimator to join their dynamic team in Arlington. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for public works projects, ensuring their proposals align with project specifications and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Utilize HCSS software to develop and maintain project databases and pricing models.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate potential cost overruns.
- Review and update estimates based on project changes and scope adjustments.
- Participate in bid meetings and present cost proposals to clients.
Experience Needed:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in estimating for public works projects.
- Proficient in using HCSS software for estimating and project management.
- Strong understanding of public works regulations and bidding processes.
- Experience in both horizontal and vertical construction projects.
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
