Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the structural engineer of record to develop structural design solutions for building components and structures, aligning with project objectives and design criteria.
- Prepare and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans.
- Deliver accurate structural designs and prepare detailed structural drawings on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure assignments are completed within budgetary and time constraints.
- Review the work of others as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with design team members.
- Understand and prepare basic designs for structural steel, concrete, masonry, and wood components and framing systems.
- Perform project activities under general supervision.
- Engage in intermediate-level professional work to develop knowledge and abilities.
- Execute a variety of technical tasks to gain experience with engineering procedures, scientific methods, practices, standards, and company programs.
- Use prescribed methods to perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments under the guidance of an experienced engineer.
- Lead the design of smaller projects under the supervision of a project manager.
- Handle external communications with consultants and clients as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
- Professional Registration: PE license required.
- 5-10 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Basic knowledge of structural design and computer analysis methods.
- Familiarity with structural design policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in design and analysis software (AutoCAD, Revit, RISA preferred, or other engineering software).
- Understanding of industry engineering standards and specifications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
