I am seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Manager to lead the design, planning, and execution of high voltage transmission line projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and construction means and methods utilized for the design and installation of high voltage transmission systems. This role will involve overseeing both the delivery and the technical aspects of the entire project lifecycle, from conception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest engineering quality and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- PE license required
- Minimum 8 years of direct experience in designing high-voltage overhead transmission lines, using PowerLine Systems software (e.g. PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, etc)
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing high voltage transmission projects preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage diverse teams, clients, and customers
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements related to high voltage systems
- Experience managing small to large-scale projects from design to construction to as-built & closeout
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a plus
- Pre-employment drug screening, background check and valid drivers license
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the successful delivery and completion of transmission projects
- Manage budgets, cost, schedules, and subcontractors and track financial performance of the project
- Allocate and direct engineering resources activities, ensuring adherence with project tasks, scopes, and budgets
- Provide technical oversight, guidance and management as required for project success
- Lead project meetings internally and with clients as required
- Participate in site visits and client office meetings as required by the project
- Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications with clients or project counterparts
- Develop and coordinate project change orders (COs) for client approval
- Manage project logs for action items, Requests for Information (RFIs), Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs), and Field Change Requests (FCRs)
- Manage project invoicing, work authorizations, notice-to-proceed, purchase orders, etc.
