Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transmission Line Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of transmission line projects. In this role, you will manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in transmission line construction, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders. Travel to various project sites is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution: Oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation through to completion, including detailed planning, resource allocation, and scheduling for transmission line construction projects.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring all team members are aligned with project goals and deadlines.
- Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and client satisfaction throughout the project. Coordinate with clients to establish project scope, budget, and timeline.
- Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures to ensure that the project remains within budgetary constraints. Identify and address potential cost overruns.
- Risk Management: Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies to minimize delays, safety incidents, and cost overruns.
- Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Foster a safety-first culture across all aspects of the project.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and contract updates. Communicate project status to stakeholders regularly.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing transmission line construction projects.
- Strong background in managing large-scale, multi-phase EPC projects, specifically in transmission lines.
- Experience with managing budgets, timelines, and resources in the field.
Skills:
- Strong project management skills, with experience using project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in the utility sector.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and handle project issues effectively and efficiently.
Certifications: OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, PMP certification is a plus.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel to project sites, with potential for 50%-75% travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing high-voltage transmission lines and related infrastructure.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting processes for transmission projects.
- Proven experience in negotiating and managing contracts with clients and subcontractors.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Travel: Extensive travel to project sites is required.
- Environment: Exposure to various environmental conditions, including outdoor construction sites and offices. The role involves working in high noise, safety hazard environments (e.g., electrical currents, scaffolding, heavy machinery).
- Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
