Medical Equipment Planning Project Manager
Location: California (Remote with Statewide Travel)
Salary: $140,000-$160,000 annually, depending on experience
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medical Equipment Planning Project Manager to join our dynamic team in California. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless integration of medical equipment planning into healthcare facility design and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience as a Medical Equipment Planner and the flexibility to travel across California to project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Oversee all phases of medical equipment planning projects, including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and installation coordination.
- Client Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and contractors, ensuring alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Equipment Planning: Develop comprehensive equipment lists, specifications, and layouts, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and client standards.
- Vendor Coordination: Engage with vendors and manufacturers to source equipment, negotiate contracts, and track delivery schedules.
- Site Visits: Conduct on-site inspections and meetings to ensure successful implementation of the equipment plan.
- Team Management: Mentor junior planners and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on healthcare codes, standards, and regulations to ensure project compliance.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years as a Medical Equipment Planner, with a proven track record of managing complex healthcare projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Healthcare Management, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory with sufficient experience).
- Travel: Willingness to travel statewide across California to project sites.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software, and familiarity with project management tools like MS Project or Asana.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare equipment, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on projects for hospitals, outpatient facilities, or large healthcare networks.
- Knowledge of California healthcare-specific regulations, such as OSHPD compliance.
